After losing her mother, Mary Farr decided the best way to settle her mother’s estate was to sell the house that they had shared in Olive Hill and move to Morehead to be closer to her daughter and granddaughter. The apartment that she moved into was an okay place for her, but the apartment above her was always trouble. There were always people moving in and out and Mary even had to deal with arguments and gun violence at times. “I thought I would go crazy!” said Mary. That is when Mary decided to give Frontier a call and see if she could own a home again.
Frontier was able to get her approved for an affordable, energy efficient home where she is paying less than she did while renting. Mary was very involved in the building of her house, “I was out there every day during the winter, I took hundreds of pictures.” said Mary. She absolutely loves how she got to customize her house to fit her needs, especially her big walk in closet and her flower beds. She also loves the fact that if she were to ever need a wheelchair, she can still easily get into every room in the house and to her sink in the bathroom.
When asked about her experience with Frontier, Mary said, “I never imagined the process being so easy and quick…it seemed like they had it done in no time!” She also spoke of how kind and nice each person at Frontier was and how helpful and determined they were to get her a home. Mary said, “A home built just for me.”
