don't buy a house, build a home.
Families Helping Families, Build a Future
The Mutual Self-Help Housing Program is a way to help families and individuals in our area achieve homeownership. Frontier Housing brings together small build groups of committed homebuyers who work together to build eachothers’ homes. We provide training and support throughout the process.
Construction experience is NOT required - just a willingness to learn and a commitment to get or give 30 hours of labor each week.
We will be with you, every step of the way.

Our one-stop shop can assist with a variety of homeownership needs, including: loans for newly constructed and existing homes, owner-occupied rehabilitation on a previously owned home, and much more. Frontier Housing’s experienced staff is a here to help you find the home of your dreams.
Justin and Jessica Sloan were apart of our very first Mutual Self-Help build group. They both showcased their commitment to the program time and time again. Always willing to help without thinking, trying and learning new things, and showing up ready to build their dream home and the homes of the fellow self-helpers, they were a shining example from our first group. We have a deep appreciation for their hard work and determination, so much so - when a new position opened in construction, we hired Justin! Now, this family lives in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home that they received for thousands of dollars less than asking price and Justin has committed his career to helping others do the same.
